Hundreds of people marched through Berlin's Wedding district on Sunday, denouncing gentrification in the German capital. The protesters waved anarchist flags and held banners with messages such as "Make investors afraid again." They also chanted slogans against capitalism. Despite local authorities' concerns about riots and the large numbers of riot police escorting the march, the event passed without major disturbances. Anarchists, squatters and left-wing organisations claim gentrification has become a problem in the German capital, saying it is also to blame for a recent surge in rent prices. The phrase ‘the next big thing’ has been thrown around a lot over recent years, so much so that it’s lost its edge. Investors understand the cryptoworld a lot better nowadays, and to be dubbed the real ‘next big thing’ would take something truly revolutionary. Something new and exciting, that could bypass the drawbacks of blockchain and push Distributed Ledger Technology to the peak (https://www.peaq.io) of its potential. The nakamo.to (http://www.nakamo.to) team have been hard at work for many months to make all of this a reality. We announced the peaq project on the 21st of November at Space Shack in Berlin. This event was sponsored by http://makers.do , innogy Innovation Hub (https://innovationhub.innogy.com) & nakamo.to (http://www.nakamo.to/index.html) https://www.peaq.io
Get my explanation that my clients typically pay for. It is hard to find properties below 100.000 Euro nowadays, especially when they should have those features: 1.) vacant 2.) lift/elevator 3.) central heating 4.) refurbished or new, and above all 5.) location, location, location. Why those features are important, and the benefits of buying either a non attractive 'ugly' flat or a small one, I will explain in this video. Why tenant turnover should matter for every investor and why student housing is so attractive. I have a couple of offers in the range of 75.000-100.000 Euro for you in this video. And I show you a brand new development close to the biggest university of Berlin, that offers yields of 4% and more, while the total costs (including side costs) is round about 75.000 Euro / ...

We need more smart green angels in Europe. At the same time, angels should get better at co-investing in smart green startups and creating value during the holding period. With this motivation Christian Reitberger and Jan Michael Hess chat about the art of smart green angel investing at ECO15 Berlin. Christian is a VC and angel at the same time. This double role is possible as Wellington Partners stopped doing new investments in resource efficiency and, as a result, there is no conflict of interest. While many angels stay in the background, Christian gets a lot of dealflow because there is a general shortage of early stage investors and many people just know him. During the last years, he made 12 angel investments including 1 exit and 1 write-off. His active portfolio contains Romo Wind an...
Spanish property investor Carlos is passionate about historic buildings and for the past two years has been cooperating with the German Meermann real estate group, and now owns 95 percent of it. He is president of Chamartin, which also builds new office buildings, hotels and congress centers to rent. The Berlin project has cost 600 million euros. Cutillas says the advantage of the German property market is that prices are relatively low and more stable than back home in Spain. He does not think that it will be affected by the international credit crunch. Alexa Meyer met the Spanish investor to find out why he has chosen Berlin and what fascinates him about Germany. This is the 6th in our investor series: "Welcome to Germany".
Investor from Berlin, Tobias P. Schirmer, speaks about the challenge to connect all the entrepreneurial ecosystems in Europe. « The accelerator is actually providing a big service to the investors by helping them, the investors and the entrepreneurs, coming up with their value proposition, filtering the dealflow and offering in 2 days the opportunity to meet all the relevant entrepreneurs.» For more on startup news and insights follow Beta-i: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/beta.i.pt Twitter: https://twitter.com/beta__i
